Smith visits Louisville, nears final decision

CardinalSports.com Jacksonville (Ala.) offensive lineman Jake Smith has had a couple new opportunities come his way in the last few weeks that he wanted to check out before signing his letter of intent on Feb. 3. One of those opportunities was with Louisville, and the 6-4, 305-pound prospect and his father visited there this weekend.
Louisville's recruitment of Smith started when Charlie Strong hired Mike Groh to be his quarterbacks coach earlier this month. Groh and Smith knew each other going back to when Groh was coaching at Alabama, but this weekend gave Smith the opportunity to familiarize himself with the other coaches on Louisville's staff.
