Sooner Camp Rolls With a Trio of Quarterbacks
NORMAN, Okla. - In the middle of driving heat the breezes that cooled many off did little to bother the skilled receivers and quarterbacks that were on hand for Oklahoma's first day of summer camp. It comes as no surprise to anyone that Sooner commitment, Kendal Thompson, from nearby Southmoore high school was on hand but he was far from the only quarterback in attendance.
Most notably among the other signal callers was 2012 Houston Second Baptist quarterback Jeremiah Briscoe. The 6-foot-3, 179-pound signal caller showed up and, like Thompson, simply worked out in shorts and a t-shirt but showed quality mechanics and a live arm. He'll definitely be a player to watch moving forward as he steps into the start spot vacated by former Sooner target, and eventual Texas signee Connor Wood.
Of course it was Thompson that had many onlookers, including his former Sooner father Charles, interested from the sidelines.
On the day Thompson threw the ball well but continues to work on some mechanical issues with the latter portions of his throwing motion. It's something that is simply a clearing up of some extra movement that slows Thompson down a bit from the decision to the moment the ball leaves his hand.
"I'm having to work on it, he is just making a few little changes," Thompson said after departing from camp.
