Richard Phoenix played on the defensive line for Maryland during the early '90s and started his final two years in College Park. Now, two decades after the big 6-foot-6 letterman graduated, his son is starting to garner some significant Division-I attention. Mason Phoenix, a junior tight end for Towson (Md.) Calvert Hall, doesn't hold an offer yet, but the 6-4, 220-pounder has heard from schools like Vanderbilt, Delaware, Rutgers and, of course, Maryland.
