OFFENSE

She says: The talk going into this game was all about Hawaii's potent
offense and quarterback Colt Brennan and his 5000 yards and 51 touchdown
passes this year. No one even mentioned the Beavers and their workmanlike style
and modest (by comparison to Hawaii's) numbers.

Well, Matt Moore and the Beavers found a way to get it done on a breezy,
showery night in Honolulu. After sixty minutes of play, it wasn't the explosive
Hawaii team on top, but the Beavers who took advantage of quick strikes and
held off Brennan's assault.

The Beavers, who had led the Pac 10 in time of possession, weren't as fortunate
against the Warriors. The Warriors possessed the football nearly two-thirds of
the game, leaving the Beavers offense less than 22 minutes to score their points.

Moore was near perfect in his last regular season game of his career, going 11-17
for 245 yards and takes home the "she said" game ball for his efforts.
He has become a strong team leader and his poise in the hostile environment of
Aloha Stadium was remarkable. In this writer's humble opinion, the offense cliqued
better against the Warriors than they have all season, sustaining drives and making
plays when they needed to be made. And for once, the game wasn't riding on the
shoulders of Alexis Serna and his leg (although he would have been ready had the
Beavers needed him).
