Spartans sit well with Franklin after visit

Youngstown (Ohio) Cardinal Mooney three-star offensive tackle Eric Franklin has completed the first official visit of his recruitment, and now Michigan State sits in good position to land the 6-7 310-pounder.

"It went very well," Franklin said told SpartanMag.com of his visit, adding that freshman offensive lineman Micajah Reynolds was his player-host. "I really enjoyed it."

When asked what stood out most about his visit, Franklin said, "How I actually got to view the facilities and more of the campus."

Franklin's stop in East Lansing marked the fourth time he's been on MSU's campus - he was an unofficial visitor for the Central Michigan, Michigan and Penn State games - and while that would seem to indicate a Spartan lean, Franklin has been guarded about naming favorites throughout his recruitment.

However, that has changed, as Franklin lists MSU, Pittsburgh, Youngstown State, Air force and Akron his top schools.
