Orange look to add impact WR
The Syracuse Orange went heavy on the wide receiver position in the class of 2011 and in 2012 they are still looking to add more talent to the group. One prospect them have their eye on is Akron (Ohio) Buchtel receiver Corey Smith.
"I received the message that they were going to offer about a week and a half ago," Smith stated. "I was excited. I talked to Coach Wheatley last year and he told me they were going to offer. He told me that they don't offer juniors because it would not be fair to the seniors they just offered."
Since Tyrone Wheatley has been around talking to Smith they have established a decent relationship.
"It is a solid relationship I like him a lot he is a cool guy. I talk to him a lot."
Have the player and coach talked about a visit to New York?
"We have not got around to talking about a visit."
Despite the Orange being interested in Smith for over a year the Ohio product still does not know too much about Syracuse.
"I do not know too much about Syracuse. I know that Tyson Gulley goes there and I talk to him on Facebook from time to time."
What he does know is the Orange want him at receiver and in the Syracuse system Smith feels he could make an impact.
"They want me to play wide receiver. I am a game changer, solid hands, and I run solid routes as well. I feel I could be a big part of their team."
A decision will not be made soon by Smith.
"I will commit towards the end of the recruiting season towards signing day."
