Bafaro torn between schools

Brett Bafaro wanted to make a decision before his senior season but it's become so difficult for him and he's still so torn that the Hillsboro (Ore.) Liberty linebacker is not ready to make his commitment.

"At the beginning of the season I was excited to get all these offers because I wanted my options and the more options I have the better," Bafaro said.

"Now it's like I have all these offers and I built all these relationships with these coaches and I love all these programs it's not a cakewalk. A lot of guys would kill to be in this position but I understand this is part of growing up and the decision I make will affect my life.

"If one was ahead of the other I would have committed. It's a dead-even race. There is a lot I love about both programs and I'm just not ready to let one of them go."

Oregon and Washington are the favorites for Bafaro, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound outside linebacker who's a four-star recruit by Rivals.com.

He had already visited Oregon and took his official trip to Washington last weekend. Bafaro loved what he saw with the Huskies, which makes his decision-making process even harder. The four-star has also taken an unofficial visit to Oregon State. Officials to Boise State and Colorado might happen before he decides.

"I had a great time (at Washington)," Bafaro said. "As far as the coaches, it was awesome. I am extremely blessed to have these schools recruiting me.

"I'm going to have the toughest decision of my life coming up. All these great programs and all these great coaches, I feel like I connect well with all of them. The decision is going to be tough."

So when is he going to make it?

"I really can't say," Bafaro said. "I'm hoping sooner rather than later. I know I said during the summer it would be cool to be committed but it's not that simple. There is so much more that goes into it. I might have to take another official visit or two to really decide."
