Bam Bradley checks out State

One of the top uncommitted prospects in the Midwest for the class of 2012 is safety Bam Bradley of Trotwood-Madison High School in Ohio. SpartanMag.com has some details on his recruitment.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Bradley is ranked the #29 safety prospect in the nation and the #37 player in Ohio for the class of 2012. He has an extensive list of offers which includes schools such as Michigan State, Stanford, Pittsburgh, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee as well as others.

Bradley comes from a family that is very familiar with the football recruiting process. Last year his brother, Nicholas Grigsby, was a highly recruited prospect that committed to the Pittsburgh Panthers. Michigan State was very interested in Gibson until the Spartans filled up at his position due to the commitments of Darien Harris and Ed Davis.

SpartanMag.com was able to make contact with Bradley's mother, Ernestine Grigsby, and she was able to confirm some information as well as provide some details into her son's recruitment.

"Yes, we were at Michigan State this past weekend," she said. "We just went up for the day. We have been to Michigan State before because they recruited my other son."

Spartan Secondary Coach Harlon Barnett serves as the primary recruiter of Bradley for the Spartans. The fact that he would be Bradley's position coach is a positive factor in his recruitment. In addition the family is familiar with several other Spartan coaches as well.

"We know Coach Dantonio because he coached my nephew down at Cincinnati," she said.

As of right now, Bradley is not in a hurry to make his college decision. Mrs. Grigsby did confirm that the Spartans would like to host Bam on an official visit later this year. Bradley has already taken official visit to Penn State and Pittsburgh and he has one schedule for Stanford in early November.

Michigan State is actively recruiting several high-level safety prospects. Along with Bradley, the staff is involved with Demetrious Cox of Pennsylvania and Jordan Diggs of Florida. The staff is looking for one of these players to come in and possible challenge for early playing time due to the graduation of All-Big Ten safety Trenton Robinson.

SpartanMag.com will be following up with Bradley in the coming weeks. Mark Dantonio prefers to have recruits take official visit with the current commitments. For that reason, it is very possible that the staff will look to host Bradley on an official visit in early December.
