Local lineman Spencer Anderson commits to Maryland

Maryland's recent roll on the recruiting trail continued Wednesday night as the Terps picked up a commitment from Forestville (Md.) Bishop McNamara three-star lineman Spencer Anderson.

Despite being listed as a defensive lineman by Rivals, the Terps recruited the two-way, 6-foot-5, 270-pound Anderson as an offensive tackle. He chose the Terps over offers from Boston College, Kentucky, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Wake Forest and more.

Anderson picked up an offer from the Terps back on May 17 and Maryland quickly made him a priority. He visited Maryland on June 1 before several other stops in College Park, including back-to-back visits June 20 and June 21.

Anderson joins Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances three-star Jaelyn Duncan as the second offensive tackle to commit to Maryland in the past week.

With the addition of Anderson, the No. 24-ranked player in the state of Maryland by Rivals, the Terps currently have 12 commits for 2018.
