Offensive tackle is arguably Maryland’s biggest need in recruiting moving forward, and the Terps staff has already targeted several big-time blockers in the 2018 class, including Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep Institute Charter School three-star tackle Justin Johnson.

The 6-foot-7, 355-pound Philly native picked up an offer from Maryland back in September and his scholarship list has continued to grow since with the most recent school to ante up being Michigan State on Feb. 16.

Besides the Spartans and Terps, Johnson’s offer list also includes Boston College, BYU, Missouri, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wisconsin. He’s currently ranked by Rivals as the No. 19 player at his position nationally and No. 17 out of the state of Pennsylvania for the 2018 class with his stock continuing to rise.

But Maryland was one of the first Power Five schools to come calling, and Johnson’s area recruiter, Terps running backs coach Anthony Tucker, has kept in touch regularly.
