The Terps landed a commitment from North Fort Myers (Fla.) three-star linebacker Fa'najae Gotay, he announced Tuesday morning via Twitter.

Gotay officially visited Maryland back during the weekend of Nov. 11 for the Michigan game. He chose the Terps over Illinois and Syracuse after taking official visits to all three schools.

Defensive coordinator Andy Buh and linebackers coach Matt Barnes both played a roll in landing the 6-foot, 205-pound backer as Maryland recently went in-home with the South Florida star.

Gotay plans to sign during the period which begins Dec. 20 and enroll early. He is the 22nd commitment for the Terps' 2018 class. Maryland might not be done, either, as fellow Fort Myers native and three-star wide receiver Jeshaun Jones will announce his commitment among a final group of Maryland, Iowa State, Pittsburgh and Nebraska. Jones officially visited Maryland the weekend of the Michigan game with Gotay.
