Besides adding more muscle to his frame, Fernando, who said he is now 6-foot-10 and 240 pounds, wants to become more of a threat away from the basket this year so that he can be a versatile post player at the next level.

“I’ve definitely been working on my outside game a lot since I’ve gotten to IMG,” Fernando said. “My coaches at IMG have done a great job with me. They already know I can play inside so they’re trying to expand my game. Personally, I know every time I get the ball inside I’m either going to get fouled or I’m going to score, so I’m just trying to get out of my comfort zone and work on my outside game.”
