COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland announced on Wednesday that head football coach DJ Durkin has completed his coaching staff with the addition of offensive line coach Dave Borbely.

Borbely brings over 30 years of experience coaching the offensive line, including stops and Stanford, Notre Dame and most recently Virginia.

“I’m thrilled to round out my initial coaching staff at Maryland with the addition of Dave Borbely,” said Durkin in a release. “Dave has a wealth of experience coaching the offensive line and he is an outstanding teacher of the game. I know he’s excited about working with and developing our student-athletes.”

Borbely had two stints at Virginia, the first as running game coordinator and offensive line coach from 2006-2009. He then returned to Virginia this past season as offensive line coach where he worked under current Maryland Associate Head Coach Mike London.

Borbely coached current NFL players Eugene Monroe, Branden Albert and Austin Pasztor during his first stint at Virginia, all three earning All-America honors under his tutelage.
