Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy five-star defensive end Josh Kaindoh is set to announce his decision via Twitter on Saturday, April 30, according to Rivals.com's Adam Friedman.
Kaindoh had originally planned on announcing his decision on Tuesday, May 3.
Ranked as the nation's No. 1 weakside defensive end and No. 4 overall prospect, Kaindoh is expected to pick between Maryland, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Penn State, despite the fact that the Terps were omitted from his top four released on April 20.
Kaindoh, who visited College Park multiple times during the spring, last visited Notre Dame the weekend of April 16 for their annual spring Blue-Gold Game. That same weekend, Kaindoh's father was in College Park meeting with the Maryland coaching staff.
The Terps and Irish appear to be the two frontrunners to land a commitment from Kaindoh, while many expect the Terps to land a commitment from the 6-foot-5, 241-pounder.
A commitment from Kaindoh would vault the Terps' 2017 recruiting class into the Top 20 nationally and continue to build on first-year head coach DJ Durkin's recent success on the recruiting trail.
