The 6-foot-6, 205-pounder averaged 16.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.3 steals per game over four days, leading his team to the playoff semifinals.
Maryland has been in heavy pursuit of Johnson since head coach Mark Turgeon added former Georgetown assistant Kevin Broadus to his staff. Broadus recruited and coached Keldon's older brother Kaleb while on the Hoyas staff.
The Terps have quickly ascended to the top of Johnson's list along with Texas. Johnson was also recently on Maryland's campus for their team camp, in which he participated.
“[Maryland] was nice,” Johnson told TSR while competing at the NBA Top 100 Camp at the University of Virginia. “I like the coaching staff. It was a great facility and great campus. I had an awesome time up there.”
Next up for Johnson is the Nike Peach Jam with his Boo Williams AAU team. Following that, Johnson hopes to cut down his list and decide where he will take his official visits.
For now, Johnson knows of two official visits he plans on taking, while the rest are up in the air at the moment.
“I definitely will take an official visit to Texas and Maryland,” Johnson said. “All the rest I will have to see.”
