The Terps are set to begin Year 2 of the Michael Locksley era Saturday night when they travel to Northwestern for their first-ever game at Ryan Field in Evanston, Illinois.

Like Maryland, Northwestern is coming off of a three-win season a year ago and both teams will have new starting quarterbacks.

It was announced last Friday that safety Travis Whillock and defensive lineman Samdup Miller were two of four players that have decided to opt out of this season. Whillock was an honorable mention All-Big Ten performer last season while Miller was a multi-year starter along the defensive line.
