The Terps added a key player from the transfer portal at a position of major need ahead of fall camp, as former Buffalo offensive lineman Isaiah Wright announced his commitment to Maryland via social media on Tuesday.
Wright brings a plethora of experience and versatility to the Terps o-line unit, having started 24 games over the past two seasons for the Bulls, with 18 straight starts at left tackle before starting his final six games at Buffalo at center.
A 6-foot-4, 300-pound New Jersey native, Wright was a three-star prospect coming out of St. Peter's Prep according to Rivals. He began his college career at Rutgers, where he spent two seasons before transferring to Buffalo.
Wright, who officially visited Maryland the weekend of May 10, is expected to compete for the Terps' starting left tackle spot vacated by Delmar Glaze, who was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the third round of this year's NFL Draft.
Wright becomes the fourth offensive lineman from the transfer portal to commit to Maryland this offseason, joining Aliou Bah (Georgia), Alan Herron (Shorter) and Josh Kaltenberger (Purdue). He also becomes the second portal addition for the Terps this spring, joining former Notre Dame punter Bryce McFerson who committed to Maryland back on May 1.
