Maryland got some good news Sunday, as Valdosta (Ga.) Lowndes three-star cornerback Kevis Thomas announced his commitment to the Terps via social media.
Thomas, who had previously been committed to Vanderbilt, chose the Terps over offers from Iowa State, Michigan State, Louisville and more.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound defensive back officially visited Maryland the weekend of June 17. He then took an official visit to Louisville the following weekend, in place of an originally scheduled visit to Vanderbilt.
Thomas is the 19th commit overall and the first from the Peach State in Maryland's 2023 class. He is currently the No. 57-ranked player in the State of Georgia and the No. 65-ranked cornerback nationally by Rivals.
