Maryland head coach Mike Locksley landed an enormous National Signing Day commitment Wednesday morning in New Orleans (La.) Warren Eastern four-star dual-threat quarterback Lance Legendre.

Legendre, who took an official visit to College Park last weekend, chose the Terps over Florida State. He had been previously recruited by Locksley while he was at Alabama.

Maryland had a major need at quarterback heading into next season with one-time starter Kasim Hill coming off of a second major knee injury and Locksley missing on Alabama grad transfer Jalen Hurts despite getting an official visit from the former SEC Offensive Player of the Year.

Legendre could have an opportunity to come in and immediately compete for playing time along with rising senior Tyrrell Pigrome.
