With the addition of 6-foot-10, No. 13-ranked, five-star power forward Jalen Smith, the Terps just landed their second-highest ranked recruit under seventh-year head coach Mark Turgeon. Only former Terps center and McDonald's All-American Diamond Stone committed to Maryland with a higher ranking (No. 6).

More importantly than rankings, the Terps' future front court got a major boost with the addition of Smith. Maryland enters the 2017-2018 season with plenty of question marks in the front court, but the future beyond appears bright as the Terps continue to pursue some of the top big men in the 2018 class.
