Boone is the first defensive back to commit in the class after the Terps took five defensive backs in 2017. He is also the second player from Eleanor Roosevelt to commit to Maryland in as many years, joining former teammate Lawtez Rogers.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder chose the Terps over offers from Kentucky, NC State, Pittsburgh, Temple, Virginia Tech and Syracuse.

The 10th commit of the 2018 class and the seventh from the DMV, Boone is the No. 49-ranked safety in the country and the No. 15-ranked player in Maryland by Rivals.
