Maryland basketball and head coach Kevin Willard added their second commitment of the 2025 class Oct. 2 in Lanham (Md.) Mt. Zion Prep three-star combo guard Christian Jeffrey.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder chose the Terps over a pair of SEC programs in Mississippi State and Texas A&M, while also taking a final official visit to Penn State.
A New York City native, Jeffrey brings a toughness and a physical mentality on both ends of the floor. He has the ability to score at all three levels and is an excellent on-ball defender.
Playing point for the New Heights Lightning on the Nike EYBL AAU circuit this past spring and summer, Jeffrey averaged 14 points, five rebounds and five steals per game. He also showed off his strong on-ball defense with nearly two steals per game.
Jeffrey is expected to come in and learn from current Terps point guard Ja'Kobi Gillespie as a freshman before taking over the reigns as a sophomore.
Jeffrey becomes the Terps' second commit for 2025, joining four-star big man and Baltimore native Marcus Jackson, who currently attends Chandler (Ariz.) Compass Prep.
