COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Mike Locksley's team got off to a bit of a slow start and it wasn't always pretty, but the Terps' running game came to life in the second half and the defense was able to come away with a pair of interceptions, as Maryland defeated Northwestern 31-24 to become bowl eligible for a second straight season.
